| One: Number one in production and sale of engines and built comprehensive advantages in market development. In 2007, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd reached a new milestone in business growth with production and sales both exceeding 380,000. The seven-year contiguous growth rate of 35% was number one in the industry. It¡¯s the first time in recent 3 years that the growth of profit exceeded the growth of sales. Yuchai became a spotlight for winning the bid from Beijing Bus Group with more than 2000 National-4 engines as the only engine enterprise in domestic engine industry won the bid. The National-3 engines have been widely used in city bus and tourism vehicle. The 6M heavy machine has been well accepted by the market and the sales tripled over the same period of the previous year. The market of light truck grew 400%. Two: research and development of technology were on the lead edge of the industry The establishment of Yuchai Engineering Research Academy which included 32 top experts of the industry guarantied the strong research and development capability and leadership of the development of the industry. The first National-5 YC6L-50 electric control diesel engine with absolute independent intellectual property right was produced in Yuchai, which preceded the national schedule of implementing National-5 emission standard by 5 years and kept the same with European emission standard. Yuchai represented the new generation of engine technology by developing the first city bus hybrid engine (with ISG technology) in China. YC4W diesel car engines were matched with more than 10 different models of vehicles and passed the ultimate experiments and capability tests. On December 18th, the Friction and Lubrication Institute of the Engineering Academy was established, which expanded its product research areas. Three: great breakthrough in international market Yuchai sped up to enter the international market. It exported about 30,000 engines last year among them more than 10,000 engines went to a single country. The sale of engines was 270% higher than the same period of the previous year. Up to date over 50,000 engines are still running outside of China. Four series of Yuchai engine, the YC4E, YC4G, YC6L and YC6J, were issued the Approval Certificates by Russia. YC6A, YC6J and YC6G diesel engines were awarded the ¡°Export Inspection Free Certificate¡± by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. Yuchai was the first export inspection free engine enterprise in China . Four: the product quality reached a new milestone; no major quality problem in the whole year; the product reliability was greatly improved. With the implementation of precise management and best product project, the compensation for product problem kept decreasing as the compensation rate per million Yuan was dropped by 30%and the failure incidence also dropped effectively. Yuchai achieved reducing the claim while the sales increased more than 30% over 2006. Five: the degree of user satisfaction was increased stably Yuchai sincerely endeavor to build harmonious service environment and improve service value. Compared to 2006, the rate of service satisfaction climbed from 79.58% to 81.03% and the complaint rate decreased from 3.15% to 2.20%. Also, the company further optimized the service management system; stressed professional specialty; achieved digital management of working performance in branch and core service stations; improved the product quality control; lowered the cost of warranty by standardizing compensation procedure, retrieving feedback information timely and accurately, and improving the follow-up service. Six: innovation of brand to build national famous brand In 2007, Yuchai continued the number one brand in Chinese engine industry with its brand value greatly increased to 5,336 billion Yuan. The company pushed forward its brand design and application of highly advanced products with well-constructed platform and well-planned strategy. The advanced Bi series trademark of Yuchai was accepted by The Trademark Bureau of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce officially received and become a sub-brand of Yuchai¡¯s heavy type machines, National-3 and National-4 engines, diesel car engines, etc. It¡¯s the first time that Yuchai implied the national culture and specialty into the brand name and integrated the brand building into strategy of company development.
